Covid-19 Update

Covid-19 Risk Management

As of April 2022, we no longer have special measures in place to deal with Covid-19. We are relying on individuals to take their own precautions (wearing masks etc) in line with government guidance.

Sunday Services

We are now running in-person and live streamed Sunday morning (10.30am) and evening (6.30pm) services. The live streaming will be on our YouTube channel.

Government's "Living with Covid" Plan

On Monday 21 February 2022, the government announced its plan for "Living with Covid". Under the plan all Covid-19 legal restrictions ended on Thursday 24 February, although various pieces of advice remain in place.

See: Government Guidance about Places of Worship.

Government's Plan B

On Wednesday 8 December 2021, the government announced it would be introducing elements of "Plan B". It is mandatory from 10 December 2021 for those attending community events and worship on our premises to wear masks unless exempt. Singing is allowed during worship and those who wish to do so can remove their masks in order to sing. However, the government recommends still wearing a mask while singing. On Wednesday 19 January 2022, the government announced that these Plan B measures were being fully withdrawn with effect from Thursday 27 January 2022.

Government's Roadmap out of Lockdown

See: Government's Roadmap

The government's roadmap (page 34) says that community centres will be able to open again in Step 2 i.e. from 12 April 2021 at the earliest. This has now been confirmed. It goes on to say (page 34) that in Step 2 "All children will be able to attend any indoor children's activity, including sport, regardless of circumstance. Parent and child groups of up to 15 people (not counting children aged under five years old) can restart indoors." Such children's activities will still be subject to Covid-19 secure restrictions (cleaning, face masks, social distancing etc). We will have to conform to current government guidance for such measures. We are therefore re-opened our premises for mid-week children's activities from 12 April 2021.

The roadmap also says (page 37) that in Step 3 mid-week activities for adults will be allowed to resume. This has been confirmed so we are now taking bookings for adult activities.

Step 4 of the roadmap (the lifting of all legally enforsable restrictions) took place on 19 July 2021.

Lettings

Lettings of our rooms have resumed for children's and adult groups from 12 April and 17 May respectively. The capacity of each our rooms is less than before Covid-19 restrictions and depends both on the type of activity and the appropriate social distancing etc measures which need to be in place. Please ask the church office (by email) about bookings and room capacities. Those wanting to hire our rooms for community activities should see our Room Hire section noting the new requirement for a Covid-19 undertaking from those hiring our rooms.

Risk Assessment

To support the re-opening of our buildings we have prepared (and updated regularly) a Covid-19 Risk Assessment.

Face Coverings

Many people wear a face covering while moving around on the premises in proximity to people they do not know. Please bring your own face mask, where possible. (We will have some supplies available for those who forget them.)

Track and Trace

We have suspended keeping a "Track and Trace" register of all people entering the church building both for Sunday services and other church activities. On 6 July 2020, we updated our Privacy Notices to reflect the possibility that personal information may be released to NHS Test and Trace. Those using our rooms should keep their own register of everyone attending (including staff and clients).
