Following the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, we are now open for in-person Sunday morning services at 10.30am. These services are exempt from the "Rule of Six" which applies from Monday 14 September 2020.
We are live streaming these services on our YouTube channel for those unable to attend in-person. This video is then be made available to watch on our YouTube channel at a later time (usually with a delay of no more than a few hours).
If you want to attend these services in-person, you will need to register in advance. Registration will open each Monday morning for the following Sunday and close on Sunday morning at 10am (or when all allocated places have been taken).
The capacity of the Worship Area will be limited and will depend on how many people coming are able to sit together in households/support bubbles. We may have to turn people away if they turn up for an in-person gathering without having registered in advance. There are many logistical considerations, and we are all becoming accustomed to waiting outside shops, keeping social distancing and hand sanitising procedures as part of our lives. So please bear with us as we have to adapt week by week.
Part of the government guidance requires us to keep a 'Track & Trace' register of all people entering the building. Because of this and limited capacity, we will be asking people to register in advance for the in-person services. This can be done via the diary on the church website or via My ChurchSuite (Click for instructions.) If you know of someone who does not have internet access, but wants to attend, please sign them up for the service or contact the church office (by email). The size of the Worship Area is the defining limitation in how many people can attend our in-person services.
We are now open again for lettings. Those wanting to hire our rooms for community activities should see our Room Hire section noting the new requirement for a Covid-19 undertaking from those hiring our rooms. The capacity of each our rooms is less than before Covid-19 restrictions and depends both on the type of activity and the appropriate social distancing etc measures which need to be in place. Please ask the church office (by email) about room capacities.
We can also advise on which activities are exempt from the "Rule of Six" which applies from Monday 14 September 2020 (the exemptions include work, education and training activities, children's playgroups, youth groups and activities, organised indoor and outdoor sports, physical activity and exercise classes).
To support the re-opening of our buildings we have prepared a Covid-19 Risk Assessment.
On 31 July 2020, the government announced that the wearing of face coverings would be made mandatory in places of worship and community centres with effect from Saturday 8 August 2020 except for (a) staff; and (b) young children and those with respiratory conditions as in all cases where face coverings are otherwise expected. These face covering rules for our premises are now the same as for shops and other public indoor spaces. Please bring your own face covering, where possible, when attending services or other activities on the church premises. (We will have some supplies available for those who forget them.)
Track and Trace
As noted above, we have to keep a "Track and Trace" register of all people entering the church building both for Sunday services and other church activities.
On 6 July 2020, we updated our Privacy Notices to reflect the possibility that personal information may be released to NHS Test and Trace.
Those using our rooms must keep their own "Track and Trace" register covering everyone attending (including staff and clients).
